Hoole and Walmsley Architects was established in 2006. The principal Directors are Karen Hoole and Jacqui Walmsley. The practice has a desire to develop architecture that not only arises from an in- depth dialogue with clients but is challenging, practical and site specific whether it be a rural or urban landscape. The work of Hoole & Walmsley has been recognised with two RIBA/RSAW awards for Architecture at the Welsh Architecture Awards 2014. The Awards were for Best Emerging Practice of the Year and for Four Houses Old Farm Mews, their new street of houses in Dinas Powys, South Wales
Every project is unique and is built upon a strong collaboration with the client and other professionals to create the best design solutions for a site. The practice specialises in housing and hopes that its work will become a model for future housing developments, demonstrating that quality, privacy and outdoor space can all be achieved within the density of existing urban housing environments.
The practice has an ambition to develop culturally and inspirational projects that provide for the sustainable practical needs of a brief whilst setting out a collective vision and regeneration of rural communities through good design.
