Karen Hoole RIBA
Brought up near Cardiff, Karen attended the Welsh School of Architecture (WSA), passed her Part II, B Arch with distinction and attained the ‘Dewi Prys Thomas Award’. After taking a break to start a family Karen returned to the WSA completing her Part III in 2006.
Karen has acted as job runner for a range of projects including conservation work, quinquennial reports, hospital conversions, school reorganisation, commercial offices, housing developments and community projects.
Karen is committed to travelling to experience and appraise past and contemporary architectural projects. She has an interest in exploring the technical developments made in response to the problems presented by climate change, in particular projects involving floating settlements within flood risk areas.
She is determined not to lose sight of her design aspirations and relishes the freedom and challenges of running an architectural practice.
