Project [ 1 of 1 ]

Owing to the perilous state of this former watermill and cornstore, a fresh approach was taken in allowing some of the walls to remain semi ruinous to reflect the history of the building's long neglect. A sensitive restoration was proposed for the remaining stonewalled shell to provide holiday accommodation, with modern insertions providing a sympathetic contrast between old and new. Historically significant as part of the medieval settlement of Llanmihangel, the scheme found support from the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales. Almost subsumed by flora and fauna, local biodiversity was both enhanced and protected through the proposals light touch on the landscape.  Planning Approval has recently been granted for The Corn Mill and Little Barn.
